Mission Statement

TOPS of SCV stands for Teaching Opportunities for Partners in Science of Santa Clara Valley. It operates under the STEM Committee of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer’s Santa Clara Valley Section. TOPS of SCV seeks to pair retired science professionals with STEM teachers, K-12, for a long term, (school-year long) partnership with science teachers. This partnership is aimed at supporting science teachers in their curriculum to engage students’ interest in pursuing study in and eventual careers in the sciences and engineering.

TOPS of SCV is a completely volunteer organization of retired science and engineering professionals dedicated to supporting science teachers in executing their curriculum in STEM education. TOPS of SCV operates under the auspices of the IEEE’s Santa Clara Valley’s STEM Committee.
