Outstanding IEEE SCV Section Young Professional presented to Selvam Raju

For outstanding contribution to IEEE Young Professionals development, serving on the leadership team at the 2020 IEEE SCV YP AI Symposium, and the Startup Pitch Competition in Industry 4.0, as well as for serving as a panelist in a Panel Discussion on Advances in Hardware for Machine Learning; plus for organizing several other social, networking, and professional development events for the SCV Section YP Members

 

Outstanding Engineer presented to Sara Dadras

For critical technical contribution to the development of self-driving cars. For significant scientific achievement and leadership in the field of control system technologies. For outstanding performance and lasting contribution to IEEE Control system Society. For exceptional scholarly contribution in control system research. And for notable inventions and creativity in the design of cutting-edge smart car technologies

 

Outstanding Large Student Branch of the Year presented to University of California, Santa Cruz

For their of outstanding technical and professional student activities, including: obtaining funding of more Maker tools, ensuring safe work spaces for members, holding a talk about LGBTQ+ in engineering to encourage a welcoming environment, and hosting fun activities, some in collaboration with other campus groups

 

Outstanding IEEE member who promoted women in engineering presented to Dr. Jeewika Ranaweera

For being an accomplished engineer, an IEEE worldwide speaker, a role model, a relentless volunteer, and a champion for IEEE Women in Engineering and STEM

For outstanding leadership in organizing events honoring historical technology innovations, showcasing the history behind those ideas and encouraging recognition of their value and contribution to today’s inventions

Kapil Dev
For his leadership and engagement with our SCV Students, assisting them in navigating the IEEE and providing guidance on their future direction, and for his commendable contributions to the conference programs and publications of several key professional engineering conferences such as the IEEE International Symposium on Low Power Electronics and Design (ISLPED)

Joseph Wei
For encouraging volunteerism, serving as a role model, and encouraging adherence to the IEEE principles, thereby inspiring cooperation among the Santa Clara Valley Section and membership.
